Meeting with Member of the European Parliament Sebastian Tynkkynen

On 16 January 2026, Shabnam Nikbakhsh, President of Atossa Association, met with Sebastian Tynkkynen, Member of the European Parliament, to discuss the situation in Iran and the aspirations of the Iranian people for a free and democratic future.

During the meeting, Ms. Nikbakhsh spoke about the growing support among many Iranians for the restoration of the monarchy under King Prince Reza Pahlavi. She emphasized that many Iranians view him as a unifying figure and support his role in leading a peaceful democratic transition.

A key topic of discussion was Mr. Tynkkynen's initiative, together with other Members of the European Parliament, to support inviting Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to address the European Parliament. Atossa Association welcomed this initiative as an important step toward ensuring that the voices of Iranians seeking democratic change are heard within European institutions.

Mr. Tynkkynen noted that Members of the European Parliament had received a significant number of emails from Iranians and supporters around the world regarding the future of Iran, reflecting the high level of engagement within the Iranian diaspora and the international community.

Atossa Association expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. Tynkkynen for his continued support for the Iranian people and for his efforts to raise awareness of the situation in Iran within the European Parliament.

The Association also extends its gratitude to Chico Muya, whose invitation to Mr. Tynkkynen to attend Atossa Association's first demonstration on 9 January 2026 created an opportunity for dialogue that later led to this meeting.

Atossa Association remains committed to engaging with elected representatives, policymakers, and civil society organizations to promote freedom, democracy, human rights, and a peaceful future for Iran.
